Another day where creativity starred in my zen time. It was another example of those plan ahead, schedule a babysitter, get people on board, meetings don't run over, pray that there isn't freezing ice, you know, supreme organization kind of stuff. Truth be told, we started with a larger group that was cut to four by the end of the day. Two of us got caught Ina meeting that ran an hour over so we missed dinner before, but when it was all said and done, four of us had an awesome time painting at Creative Spirits in Ames. If you haven't found one of these in your area, look around. They are amazingly fun and you do not have to have artistic talent to enjoy yourself. They show you a painting and the resident artist walks you through step by step. Our artist Amanda did a great job at helping us flex our creativity by picking different colors and then giving us tips to pull it together. The "original" painting had blue, green, and gold in it.
And silver and black.
My version is completely different than the original but I love it and will hang it in my bedroom.
The four of us took it very different places but they were all beautiful.
And best of all, we had a few hours together to laugh and express our creativity. Everytime I look at the painting, I will remember the weather (the freezing rain and worst of the snow held off) and the fun we had on a random Wednesday afternoon. Definitely a memorable evening.
Who would you take with you and what colors do you need in a painting on your wall????
